The Columbus restaurant scene is a celebration of both the old and the new.  As a major college town and the capital of Ohio, Columbus draws its citizenry from around the state. That said, it sometimes seems like everyone here is from somewhere else. What that means for the food scene is primarily open-minded residents, if not wide-eyed. Maybe that’s why Columbus has traditionally been one of the country’s top test markets. It, also, means that people are willing to try new things and keep going back if they’re good.

With Ohio State University’s influence, Columbus is a young town, a place where food entrepreneurs are welcome and celebrated. It’s also growing in ethnic diversity, and that influence is being felt. There’s tradition here, too, from places that have ground out delicious smoked meats for more than a century to traditional foods done right for decades.

“We could not have been happier with our decision to visit The Welsh Hills Inn. From the moment we entered The Inn, we knew this was the place for us…. warm, cozy, attention to detail and, oh, the meals! This is such a wonderful place to unwind, relax, and have a rich conversation with Bobbi and Jeff. Thank you so much for everything!”
