New England Charm in the Heart of Ohio

In 1796, several Welsh families fled their homeland to start new lives in America. In 1801, after residing for a few years in Pennsylvania, Theophilus Rees and Thomas Philipps, moved further west settling in an area that reminded them of their homeland in Wales. This ~2,000 acres of land with hills and valleys and an abundance of timber and natural springs in Licking County, Ohio is known today as the Welsh Hills. This fertile land enticed these families to make this their permanent home.

The Welsh Hills Inn, established in 2010, sits in the idyllic, rolling, wooded countryside of the Welsh Hills on 15 acres of this historic land in the charming, New England-like village of Granville Ohio. We are happy to make this our home and enjoy sharing the beauty of the vistas, the grounds, and the Granville community with our guests.

“Thank you so much for another spectacular stay! There is no other place that we could imagine spending our vacation. This truly is the number one getaway in the country. We plan to enjoy your hospitality and The Inn’s beautiful grounds for years to come. Thank you again for taking the time to take us out on the shooting range and for making us feel right at home. We are counting down the days to our next visit!”
